Meet the maker

Ada spent her childhood in New York, but she was lucky to immerse herself in her South American culture through her family in Peru. She cherished the beauty of nature and the simplicity of life she experienced there. It wasn't until she served in the Marine Corps and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, that she felt a similar sense of enrichment from her environment and the people she encountered. Ada collected meaningful items that resonated with her travel experiences.

After Ada’s deployment to Iraq, she pursued her education in Graphic Design in California, and everything seemed promising until a series of events led her to relocate to North Carolina. After facing challenges in securing steady work in graphic design there, she decided to explore a different profession that she felt compelled to pursue. After years of seeking her own purpose rather than conforming to others' expectations, she discovered silversmithing in 2023. She is also currently a freelance illustrator and enjoys it, as it has greatly contributed to her design process as a silversmith. This craft required dedication, skill, and a deep passion for the art. Ada aspires to create pieces that evoke nostalgia and beauty for the wearer—jewelry imbued with meaning that could be cherished for years to come, just like her grandmother’s rings that were passed down to her.

Ada draws her inspiration from the beauty of nature and Peruvian textiles. She has a passion for vibrant colors while also valuing the elegance of neutral tones. Her fascination with mythology and the cosmos fuels her creativity. Ada incorporates high-quality gemstones and fire opals into her designs, crafting pieces that resonate with the fiery spirit within us.

The name "Sol" in Charming Sol, holds a special significance in her work, embodying both the warmth and light of the sun and the essence of the spirit, or soul, paying homage to her Peruvian roots.
